Apple has officially announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place between June 5 and 9, 2023. This year, the event will be conducted primarily online, with a special in-person experience at Apple Park on the opening day for developers and students to celebrate together. WWDC23 will be free for all developers and will showcase the latest advancements in iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS.
The event aims to provide developers with exclusive access to Apple engineers, offering insights into new technologies and tools that will help them bring their creative ideas to life. Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed her excitement for WWDC23, stating that it is going to be the biggest and most thrilling event to date.
In addition to the keynote and State of the Union presentations, the online program will feature sessions, one-on-one labs, and opportunities for developers to engage with Apple engineers and their peers. Developers and students will also have the chance to attend a special day at Apple Park on June 5, where they can watch the keynote and State of the Union presentations alongside the global online community. However, space for this in-person event is limited, and those interested should visit the Apple Developer site and app for application details.
WWDC23 also presents the opportunity to support student developers through the Swift Student Challenge. This initiative is one of many Apple programs aimed at elevating developers and learners of all ages who are passionate about coding. Utilizing Swift Playgrounds, a revolutionary app for iPad and Mac that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun, students from around the world are invited to create an app playground based on a topic of their choice. Submissions for this year’s challenge are now open and will be accepted until April 19. More information can be found on the Swift Student Challenge website.
As WWDC23 approaches, Apple plans to share more conference details through the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website. Stay tuned for updates on this highly anticipated event, and get ready to explore the latest innovations from the tech giant.
