How to Choose Which iPhone 17

Tim Cook, Apple CEO, emerged on stage at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference to reveal the latest crop of iPhones. And while we are thrilled to see Apple’s latest and greatest toys, the question on hand is this: which one should you buy?

There are a few to choose from, and whether one should upgrade—and which one is most compatible with one’s lifestyle—looks daunting. That’s why we created a one-page, one-stop at-a-glance overview of each one of the four new iPhones. By the end, you’ll be able to tell what’s changed, what’s remained the same, and if upgrading right now is a priority.

Welcome the iPhone 17

Price: Beginning at $799, this one is the best value for the money to jump into the fray—the ideal if you desire high-end performance without overpaying.

Design: You’ll have a choice between five lovely hues—lavender, sage, mist blue, white, and black. The screen is slightly larger at 6.3 inches, but intelligent design keeps the phone about the same size in the palm.

Storage: Great news if you’re a photo or video hoarder—the base storage now doubles to 256GB, giving you plenty of room right out of the box.

Experience: With 120Hz ProMotion, games and scrolling are silky smooth. You’ll feel the difference instantly if you enjoy fast-motion games or just can’t get enough smooth animation.

iPhone 17 Air: The Thinnest iPhone on Earth

Price: This comes in between the base and Pro tiers at $999—it’s perfect if you want something more than the absolute minimum but don’t want to get totally crazy.

Design: Ultra-slim at a mere 5.6mm, constructed with strength in titanium, and available in stylish colors such as Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue.

Showoff: The 6.5-inch OLED ProMotion display isn’t just bright—it’s tougher too, with Ceramic Shield. Perfect for streaming, gaming, or just normal scrolling.

Battery: You’ll be able to play movies for as long as 27 hours (up to 40 if you supplement with a MagSafe pack), so that should be able to cope with your longest day.

Best for: If you want a super thin, stylish phone that isn’t skimping on high-end goodies, that’s the spot.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Version

Price: Pro begins at $1,099; Pro Max is pricier, varying by storage.

Performance: They are both driven by the A19 Pro chip with smart AI and higher efficiency.

Camera: Upgraded AI-driven cameras for better and clearer low-light photographs.

Storage: 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB and an unprecedented 2TB storage capacity for the first.

Differences: The Pro Max has the biggest display (6.9 inches and a larger battery); the Pro is a little smaller and lighter.

Best for: Power users, gamers, streamers, and professionals.

No matter which  iPhone you are inclined towards, the bright side is that Apple has a little something for everyone this year. Whether you desire the best value for money with the iPhone 17, the slim build and feel of the Air, or the high-performance response of the Pro lines, you truly cannot go wrong—it just boils down to what is most important for you.
